SPRING HAS SPRUNG AND I DO YOGA

HONORING MYSELF

So last week's theme week was echos of the past. Which made me think of how I too often ponder the past without acceptance. Basically, it is hard for me to let go of past mistakes and things I can't change; inevitably beating myself up because of them. It is so easy to get down on yourself. Logically, I know it is silly and fruitless but I find I have wondered down the path before I realize where I was walking. As well as it is hard for me not qualify something good about me with yeah, but...This brought me to honoring myself, we are told to have gratitude for the higher power, people and circumstances in our lives, but how often are we told to light a candle to ourselves. I was just reading about how you should take a picture of yourself that you like that only has you in it and light a white candle and be thankful to yourself. Thus, this week I am challenging myself to come up with seven things I think make me kickass and I challenge you to do the same. My first being that I am doing this without shame!

NO MORE EASTER SERVICES HERE

The church bell tolled
The people gathered
The community stood
Until it fell

FALLING

Worn, leaning, better off torn down
But still standing

REMINDERS

Every beginning as an end
And every end a beginning

MAKE ROOM

In the midst of the past meeting the future
The guarantee of time bringing change
Of nothing lasting forever
Reminders stand
If you listen and look very carefully
You can hear and see the echos of the plantation
As the past falls away to the future

ECHOS OF THE PAST

 Facing your mistakes
And allowing acceptance
Knowing that you cannot right all wrongs
Though you try to live today better
Accepting yourself for what you are
But saying goodbye to ones you love
And forever will miss
Nostalgic dreams of what different paths may have lived
But will never be lives you lead
Being okay with the direction that you walk
Weather ideal on the surface or below
Trying to not be lonely in lone days
Hearing echos of the past
Can be hard on your heart some days

IN MEMORY OF WINTER BRANCHES

Cold pounces await
Hungers to eat lamb
Claws curled
Death breezes
Farewell Hunting Tiger

 Warm cuddles await
Tame as a lamb
Softly curled
Breath breezes
Hello Sleeping Tiger

OLD TIME BOWLING GREEN IN A MODERN WORLD

Balancing companions
Stirring rebellions
Belonging wherever they are
As near to one another as far
One is calm the other is spice
Quietly loud with gentle advice
