TURN THE KNOB TO A HAPPY NEW YEAR
What happened
Where did it all begin to end
Do you remember when it wasn't
Can it be rescued, fixed, as good as it once was or better
Is it worth saving
Through the destruction and hurt
Through the destruction and hurt
Will it feel comfortable again
Do you think of it as often as I do and wonder how to correct it
Do you think of it as often as I do and wonder how to correct it
Or are we convinced that all the before was a lie and the now is the was
Are we doomed to be fallen and submitted to judgment of one another and at war
To hurt each other over and over again
One fairing better than the other
Just because we couldn't understand one another
Our brothers, sisters, friends, mothers, fathers forever lost and replaced by the grief of their deaths
Moving forward but with haunted dreams
One day not even remembering why we feel pain but always feeling
Stopping true friendships and forgiveness
Orson Scott Card's Ender claimed to be the Speaker for the Dead for his false enemies:
"Here are our failures, and here is our greatness; we did not mean to hurt you, and for our death. From their earliest awareness to the great wars that swept across their home world,...If only we could of talked,...But since it could not be, we ask only this: that you remember us, not as enemies but as tragic sisters, changed into a foul shape by fate or God or evolution. If we had kissed it would have been a miracle to make us human in each other's eyes. Instead we killed each other."
We have so much in common...the urgent want to be understood and the urgent feeling we are
Can't we speak for one another in life
Granting compassion instead of judgment
Be part of a greater good and purpose
Be each other's friend, brother, sister, mother, father again
I promise we once were
I am not evil and I don't believe that you are
Even if it at times the hurt felt as if you were destroying me
And I would ask but what did I do to you to deserve this
Don't you remember the things I helped you with and the compassion I shared
Even if it at times the hurt felt as if you were destroying me
And I would ask but what did I do to you to deserve this
Don't you remember the things I helped you with and the compassion I shared
This is my wish for the New Year
I dedicate it to you
Hold my hand brother, sister, mother, father, friend and we will turn the knob together
Into a better New Year
Into a better New Year

MERRY CHRISTMAS?
I wander around
the lit park
stopping at the Nativity scene
covered over with chicken wire
This is Christmas? This is it?
Where are the families, friends, trust, love, Who-ville Community?
The lights are pretty but not enough to evoke serenity
For me today Christmas is just a day like any other
Only to be awaken on Christmas Morn

WORTHY WONDERBOY QUOTE
WB: "Mommy, I don't want to die and get a new body."
Me:"I don't think you need to worry about that for awhile."
WB: "But this body is sooo cute and I don't want it to get ruined."
